ABOUT

Florian Schmid graduated from the Munich University of Applied Sciences in 2011 and immediately established his own studio. Our studio's design projects range from furniture and products to textiles. We approach each project with a playful and experimental mindset, always prioritizing the material's inherent qualities and character.

His work has been showcased at prestigious events such as the London Design Festival, BODW in Hong Kong, D3 Contest Design Talents in Cologne, and Salone del Mobile in Milan. Notably, our "Stitching Concrete" project received the IF Award in 2012, was nominated for the German Design Award 2013 as a newcomer, and has been acquired by several design collections. In spring 2014, Florian was honored with the "A&W Design Talent 2013" award by Architektur&Wohnen magazine.

Since 2015, he joined NIO Design at which he was last leading as the Global Head of CMF Design, merging the two worlds of furniture and automotive design.
